Managing this portfolio included negotiating and executing the corporate benefits triggered by the memberships with the fifteen institutions selected annually. As a Marketing Specialist with Merrill Lynch, she managed the SAGE Scholars Program relationship (Merrill Lynch - Investing Pays Off® grant recipients), including managing the internship experience and coordinating potential full-time hires with Merrill Lynch upon graduation. SAGE Scholars from UC Berkeley, UC Irvine, and UC San Diego intern in Merrill Lynch offices throughout California. While in this role, there were six full-time Merrill Lynch hires of SAGE Scholars since the program’s inception. Alia was actively involved in the creation and implementation of the Legacy Merrill Lynch Black Professional Network in Los Angeles, CA (BPN – L.A.).
